While other exoskeletons are targeted for carrying heavy objects or rehabilitation, Archelis is uniquely designed to focus on supporting workers who stand in the same place for prolonged periods during the working day.<\/span> The design promotes a stable center of gravity, while not sacrificing more than a few centimeters of height, making it particularly effective for people who work in front of a workstation for long hours.

Archelis is a purely mechanical exoskeleton – it doesn\u2019t rely on an external or internal power source. This means that it can\u2019t assist you with carrying heavy objects, nor is it designed for walking long distances. However, the lack of battery in the design means it can be used at any time, for long periods without a need to recharge or replace batteries. This also means that in cases where repair is deemed necessary, parts can be exchanged easily.<\/span>

Point 3. Move freely<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the most common misconceptions about Archelis is that you can\u2019t climb stairs while wearing it. However, if you watch the video below you\u2019ll see this is entirely untrue!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Archelis comes with three modes (Free, Archelis, Stand), and while in \u201cFree\u201d mode the knee\u2019s range of motion is unrestricted. You can climb stairs, squat down, and move as freely as you\u2019d like. Only in \u201cArchelis\u201d and \u201cStand\u201d modes does the knee lock movement. However, switching modes takes a matter of seconds, so you are able to easily travel when necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
