What challenges did you face before introducing Archelis?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All spinal surgeries are basically performed standing for long periods of time. Moreover, we have to wear a lead-filled protector for radiation protection, so the body is subjected to an extra five or ten kilogram load for the duration of the procedure. Personally, the back pain I suffer as a result has led to me having to wear a medical corset during surgeries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, I heard about Archelis, and as soon as I tried it out I knew it was a great product. In fact, because I work at both Ayabe Renaiss and Kyoto Renaiss hospitals, I bought two units and use them at both hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you feel about the Archelis?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I have no problem operating pedals during procedures, and I don\u2019t even notice the extra weight. It\u2019s possible to switch modes, but I usually just use the \u201cstand\u201d mode. Once you get used to it, walking short distances to the other side of the operating table is no trouble at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My operations usually run for up to four hours. Thanks to Archelis, I don\u2019t feel as fatigued after the surgery. If I didn\u2019t have Archelis, I couldn\u2019t continue to perform surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Archelis is really comfortable. I perform about 10 surgeries a week, and I use Archelis for all of them. I no longer need a corset. As a specialist in spinal surgery, the fact that I no longer use a corset should convey how good Archelis is. Without Archelis, I wouldn\u2019t perform surgeries.

I\u2019d recommend it to doctors who wear heavy protectors for long hours. This could be something like the spinal surgeries I perform, but also endovascular surgeries that use an angiography device. If you carry out a procedure under increased physical stress, it\u2019s only natural that your concentration can slip. Using Archelis helps keep that concentration, so I\u2019d recommend it to any doctor who is feeling that stress. I also think it\u2019s a preventative measure against back pain.
